Last updated 24 August 2026. These terms apply to everyone using ShiftBuddy.
ShiftBuddy is strictly for people aged 18 or over who work in, or with, the UK health and care sector. You must give an accurate name and date of birth when you sign up. Optional photo ID verification unlocks the Verified badge.
You are responsible for keeping your password and any two-factor backup codes secure, and for everything that happens under your account. Do not share logins or create accounts on someone else's behalf. Tell us straight away if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.
Treat colleagues with respect. Do not post abuse, harassment, discrimination, sexual content, threats, or content that identifies patients. Never share patient-identifiable information, clinical records, photographs taken in clinical areas, or anything that breaches your professional code, your trust's policies, or the Data Protection Act 2018.
ShiftBuddy is a peer community, not an official healthcare channel. Posts, alerts, rotas and shift information shared here are user-generated and must not be relied on for clinical decisions, patient care, or employment matters. Always follow your employer's official systems and escalation routes.
You keep ownership of everything you post. By posting, you give ShiftBuddy a licence to host, display and distribute that content within the app so it can be shown to other members. You can edit or delete your posts at any time.
Some areas of ShiftBuddy, including the video feed, may show advertising. Personalised advertising is only served after you give consent, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time in your settings.
You can block, mute and report members. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or delete accounts that breach these terms or put patient or staff safety at risk. Serious matters may be referred to the relevant employer or authority.
We may update these terms as the service develops and will tell you about significant changes in the app. You can close your account at any time from account settings. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
